For the academic year, 2016-2017, Leeds University Business School is offering eight international scholarships. International students can apply for these scholarships. These scholarships are available to students who have demonstrated sustained academic excellence and have the potential to make a significant contribution to Business School life. Student will receive an award of £2,500 per year for each standard year of study towards the cost of fees. The deadline for applications for 2016 entry is 31 May 2016.

 

Leeds University Business School offers a number of scholarships to celebrate exceptional international candidates. These are awarded to candidates who have demonstrated sustained academic excellence and the potential to make a significant contribution to Business School life. Details of the available scholarships are listed below:

1. Business School International Scholarships

What is it?

An award of £2,500 per year for each standard year of study towards the cost of fees.

Who qualifies?

There are up to 8 scholarships available. All international self-funding applicants who apply for an undergraduate course at Leeds University Business School and are classed as international for fee purposes are considered with the exception of applicants progressing from NCUK programmes; the University of Leeds International Foundation Year and the Leeds International Study Centre Foundation Year. Dedicated scholarships are available for applicants progressing from these programmes.

How do I apply?

In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must be currently holding a conditional or unconditional offer for 2016 entry. Candidates are required to submit an application form. The deadline for applications for 2016 entry is Tuesday 31 May 2016.

When will I be told if I am successful?

Applications will be considered on the basis of the application form and be awarded conditional upon you exceeding the conditions of your offer. If you have applied will receive the outcome of this first stage by Friday 17 June 2016.
The award of the scholarship will be confirmed by the Admissions team by Friday 2 September 2016.

2. Business School International Scholarships for nationals of India, Kenya, Nigeria and Vietnam

What is it?

An award of £2,500 per year for each standard year of study towards the cost of fees for nationals of India, Kenya, Nigeria and Vietnam.

Who qualifies?

There are up to 8 scholarships available; 2 per country. All self-funding applicants who are nationals of India, Kenya, Nigeria and Vietnam who apply for an undergraduate course at Leeds University Business School and are classed as international for fee purposes will be considered with the exception of applicants progressing from NCUK programmes; the University of Leeds International Foundation Year and the Leeds International Study Centre Foundation Year. Dedicated scholarships are available for applicants progressing from these programmes.

3. The Accounting and Finance Top Ten Achievement Scholarship

The Top Ten Achievement Scholarship Scheme is worth £2,000 for students demonstrating outstanding academic performance in their first and second years of study on BSc Accounting and Finance:
• Ten students achieving the highest overall marks in BSc Accounting and Finance in their first year will receive a Top Ten Achievement Scholarship of £2,000 towards their continued studies on the programme.
• Ten students achieving the highest overall marks in BSc Accounting and Finance in their second year will also receive a Top Ten Achievement Scholarship of £2,000 towards their final year of study on the programme.
The Top Ten Achievement Scholarship will be awarded and paid when the scholarship holders recommence their studies at the University in the academic year following their achievement, and will be offered either as a fees deduction or maintenance paid directly into a student’s bank account in monthly instalments.
For students spending their third year on a placement in industry, or studying abroad as a year abroad, this means that a scholarship awarded at the end of their second year will normally be paid at the start of their final year. Similarly, students who become temporary leavers for a valid reason, such as ill health, will also have their award deferred until their return to study.
The Top Ten Achievement Scholarship is open to all students on the programme and both UK/EU and International students are eligible. There is no need to make a formal application.

4. The Leeds International Foundation Year (IFY) Scholarship

What is it?

The award is £2,500 per year towards the cost of fees.

Who qualifies?

All Leeds International Foundation Year self-funding applicants who apply for an undergraduate programme and are classed as international for fee purposes are considered. NOTE: students must not be in receipt of any other scholarship or fees bursary.

How do I apply?

All students who are offered a place will automatically be considered for a scholarship against set criteria. There is no additional scholarship application process.
In order to qualify for this award you will need to have met the following conditions:
• You have progressed onto a Leeds University Business School undergraduate degree programme directly from the Leeds International Foundation Year.
• You are a self-funded student paying fees at the full international student rate upon entry to Leeds University Business School in September 2016.
• You must achieve an overall average of at least 75% on the Leeds IFY with no single module below a grade B.
The award of the scholarship will be confirmed by the Admissions team by Friday 2 September 2016.

5. Leeds International Study Centre (Study Group) Scholarships

What is it?

An award of £2,500 per year for each standard year of study towards the cost of fees.

Who qualifies?

There are up to 6 scholarships available. All international self-funding applicants who are currently undertaking the Leeds International Study Centre (Study Group) Foundation Year.

How do I apply?

In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must be currently holding a conditional or unconditional offer for 2016 entry. Candidates are required to submit an application form. The deadline for applications for 2016 entry is 31 May 2016.

When will I be told if I am successful?

Applications will be considered on the basis of the application form and be awarded conditional upon you exceeding the conditions of your offer. Applicants will receive the outcome of this first stage by Friday 17 June 2016.
The award of the scholarship will be confirmed by the Admissions team by Friday 2 September 2016.
